Krause Group Releases 2021 Corporate Social Responsibility Report
September 1, 2022
Des Moines, IA (September 1, 2022) – Krause Group published its 2021 Corporate Social Responsibility Report on September 1. It provides a detailed overview of how its companies, including Kum & Go, worked in 2021 to accelerate their business to bring their purpose to life. This is their fourth edition since 2018, which goes further in developing clear performance indicators in key focus areas and commits to future benchmarking and materiality assessments for long-term, sustained impact.
“2021 was a tale of two halves: a continuation of what we experienced in 2020 during the coronavirus pandemic and the slow return to in-person experiences as we adjusted to a new normal,” said Krause Group Chairman & CEO Kyle Krause. “As we publish our 4th CSR Report, I reflect on how proud I am of our associates as we worked through another challenging year due to the pandemic. As we look forward to 2022, we plan to further define a clear vision within each business for our people, planet, and philanthropy pillars of CSR.”
The vision for Krause Group first took root in 1959, with the launch of a single gas station in Hampton, Iowa, by Tony S. Gentle and his son-in-law, William A. Krause. Over the next 63 years, that business has grown to incorporate a diverse set of companies including Kum & Go, Solar Transport, Italian wineries Vietti and Enrico Serafino, Krause+, Dalla Terra Ranch, Teamwork Ranch, the Des Moines Menace soccer club, and Italian soccer club Parma Calcio 1913 – all under the leadership of parent company, Krause Group.
The new report focuses on how each of these businesses are working across the four pillars of social responsibility established at Krause Group: purpose-based, people first, planet, and philanthropy. Supporting associates overall mental, physical, and financial wellbeing was a priority in 2021. Additional highlights include additional resources and progress made to support to our commitments to responsible energy use, support to more than 220 nonprofit organizations, and record high scores in our Associate Engagement Survey. The new report encapsulates the breadth and scope of Krause Group’s work across 14 states, two countries, and with over 6,007 Associates.
“While 2021 presented additional challenges coming off of 2020, I’m proud of how our associates worked through them, and did so guided by our Purpose and Values,” said Krause. “We are committed to tangible progress in our CSR efforts to help ensure our associates and communities continue to thrive for years to come.”
